Our Level 4 Diploma is a nationally recognised, Ofqual regulated qualification designed for practitioners ready to progress beyond Level 3 and develop advanced, safe, and evidence-based practice in aesthetics. What You Will Learn

Advanced IPL & Laser Hair Removal

Learners develop in-depth knowledge of light and laser physics, skin typing (Fitzpatrick I–VI), hair growth cycles, treatment parameters and safe device operation. You will learn how to assess suitability, manage contraindications, adjust settings safely, and understand complications such as burns, hyperpigmentation and paradoxical hair growth. Emphasis is placed on consultation, patch testing, treatment planning and post-care protocols.

IPL / Laser Skin Rejuvenation

You will learn how light-based therapies stimulate collagen production, target pigmentation and vascular concerns, and improve overall skin quality. The course covers ageing skin, photo-damage, rosacea and pigmentation management, alongside risk assessment and safe parameter selection.

Chemical Peels

Learners gain understanding of skin structure, pH, acid types (AHA, BHA, etc.), depth of penetration and controlled exfoliation. You will learn how to assess skin, select appropriate peel strengths, manage pre and post treatment care, and prevent complications such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Skin Needling (Microneedling)

This unit covers collagen induction therapy, wound healing response, depth control, treatment of acne scarring, pigmentation and ageing concerns. You will develop knowledge of infection control, contraindications, sterile technique and evidence-based treatment planning.

In Addition to Practical Skills, You Will Develop:

VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Skin Peeling Qualification

The VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peeling is an advanced qualification for level 3 qualified practitioners or equivalent aged 18 and over. This qualification will include all the required elements to work successfully as a fully commercial skin peeling professional. Students will be expected to achieve all mandatory units which include:

Throughout this course, students will develop their knowledge and understanding of all Health & Safety aspects, Advanced Client Consultation, Skin Analysis, Anatomy and physiology & providing Skin peeling treatments relating to level 4 aesthetic therapies. Pre-requisites

Level 3 or equivalent. At a minimum, learners are required to hold either the VTCT Level 2 Award in Facial Massage and Skin Care or VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Facial Skincare (or equivalent) and a qualification in level 3 Anatomy and Physiology. Home study, assignments, portfolio of evidence and assessments are required to complete this course including a final exam in both theory and practical.

The Level 4 Award in Skin Blemish Removal is a vocationally related qualification focused on carrying out advanced electrical epilation techniques to treat skin tags, milia, telangiectasia, spider naevi and blood spots. Students will develop the advanced skills to carry out a thorough consultation, formulate an individual treatment plan and provide aftercare advice. Health, safety and hygiene are also key elements of this qualification. Students will be assessed on their occupational competence. Level 4 Certificate In Laser, Light And Skin Rejuvenation

The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists, who wish to add laser and IPL treatments to their repertoire of treatment offerings and proceed to employment as a level 4 laser therapist. This qualification is based on beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications. Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline prior to undertaking this qualification. Your centre will have ensured that you have the required knowledge, understanding and skills to enroll and successfully achieve this qualification.

The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments is a vocationally related qualification and is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense pulse light and laser treatments. This qualification requires you to develop skills to carry out IPL and laser treatments. This qualification allows you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients. This qualification has been specifically designed for the 18+ age groups, builds on existing knowledge and understanding of therapy skills and will develop an enhanced repertoire of technical skills to prepare you for employment. You will have your skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment.
